Marianne Bowden, PhD

Marianne Bowden, PhD, who established Bowden & Associates in 2000, received her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from John Carroll University and her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Kent State University. She completed her psychology internship at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and her psychological residency at The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties. She is licensed as a psychologist and serves on the Ethics Committee of the Ohio Psychological Association. Dr. Bowden has worked in the mental health profession since 1983, serving in positions as therapist, administrator, supervisor, and consultant. She is on staff at Wooster Community Hospital and Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. Her experience includes evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in treating victims of sexual abuse, mood and anxiety disorder, development disorders, conducting forensic and treatment evaluations. Dr. Bowden is actively involved in the Wayne County Children's Advocacy Center where she serves as a board member and the Child Abuse Taskforce in Wayne County.




Tom Funk, M.A. Ed, PCC, CSC

Thomas Funk, a state licensed clinical counselor and social worker, is also endorsed as a supervising clinical counselor by the State of Ohio. He maintains a national sports counselor certification and a national hypnotherapy certification. Mr. Funk has served in a variety of social service settings as an administrator, therapist, consultant, and direct care staff member. Mr. Funk is adept at addressing concerns, such as: Children/Adults with ADHD and Behavior Problems, Anxiety, Trauma, Anger Management, Depression, Weight Management, Domestic Violence, Chemical Dependency, Abuse, Healthcare Professional Burnout, Couples/Family Discord, and General Self-Improvement. His style is solution-oriented, flexible, educational, and empowering.




Kristen McCort, M. Ed, PCC

Kristen McCort completed her Master of Education in Counseling at Ohio University in 1998. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Ohio and West Virginia. Prior to joining the practice at Bowden and Associates, she served as a counselor at Integrated Geriatric Care, Westbrook Health Services, and Worthington Center, Incorporated all in the Parkersburg, WV area. Kristen works with people twelve and older, specializing in depression, anxiety, grief, and abuse issues. She also has specific training and experience working with the geriatric population focusing on depression, grief, adjustment issues, and caregiver stress unique to those 55 and older.



Mary Ann Pap-Barbera, MSSA, LISW

Mary Ann Pap-Barbera, MSSA, LISW, received her Mast of Science in Social Administration in 1989 from Case-Western Reserve University (Cleveland OH). She is licensed through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage, and Family Therapist Board. She is extensively experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty areas include abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, women's issues, and children's behavioral issues.
