MARIANNE BOWDEN

PhD

Marianne Bowden, PhD, received her Master’s of Educational Psychology  from John Carroll University and her Doctorate in Counseling/Clinical Psychology from Kent State University.  She completed her clinical internship at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine and her residency at The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties.  She has been in the mental health profession since 1984 and licensed as a psychologist since 1995.  She is the owner of Bowden & Associates Psychological and Counseling Services LLC.

Dr. Bowden has extensive experience with psychological evaluations as well as custody and parenting evaluations, having completed over 3500 evaluations in her career.  She also treats mental health issues for all ages and problems.  She specializes in the areas of trauma, child sexual abuse, ethics, anxiety/panic disorders.

In April 2019 Dr. Bowden was named Wayne County Child Advocate of the Year by the Voices of Children Committee.  She was subsequently recognized by the State of Ohio House of Representatives for this accomplishment.

Dr. Bowden has been on staff at Wooster Community Hospital providing consultation to the Rehabilitation Unit and the Corporate Wellness Program.  She has been recognized by the Ohio Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association for her work with the Psychologically Healthy Workplace and Corporate Wellness.  She has served on the board of the Wayne County Children’s Advocacy Center and the Ohio Psychological Association Ethics Committee.

KRISTEN MCCORT

M ED, LPCC

Kristen McCort, M Ed, LPCC, completed her Master’s of Education in Counseling at Ohio University and has worked as a counselor for almost twenty years.  She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and has worked at Bowden and Associates for over twelve years.  Kristen worked previously in several mental health practices in Parkersburg, WV, including Integrated Geriatric Care.  

Kristen works with people fifteen and older, specializing in depression, anxiety, grief, Christian Counseling, and trauma issues.  She also has specific training and experience working with the geriatric population focusing on depression, grief, adjustment issues, caregiver stress, and other issues unique to those 55 and older.

ELIZABETH YUTZY
MSW, LISW

Beth Yutzy, MSW, LISW, practices therapy with a positive and solution focused style.  She is licensed through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.  Beth holds a Bachelor of Art degree from Malone University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Akron, She has previously held positions at Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, Wayne County Help Me Grow, and The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties. 

Beth works with people of a variety of ages.  She addresses concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and children’s behavioral issues with compassion in an effort to empower and encourage active problem-solving.

MARY ANN PAP-BARBERA

MSSA, LISW-S

Mary Ann Pap-Barbera, MSSA, LISW-S, received her Master’s of Science in Social Administration in 1989 from Case-Western Reserve University (Cleveland OH). She is licensed through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage, and Family Therapist Board with a supervising endorsement. She is extensively experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty areas include abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, and children’s behavioral issues. She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, as well as Acceptance and Commitment therapy.

JENNIFER SKRUCK

MA, LPCC-S

Jennifer Skruck, MA LPCC-S, completed her Master’s of Education Degree in Community Counseling at Malone University.  She is a Licensed Clinical Counselor by the State of Ohio, with supervising endoursement.  Prior to joining Bowden & Associates, she worked in private practice, community mental health, and residential treatment.  She has also provided clinical supervision.  Jennifer works with individuals of all ages as well as couples and families.  Her speciality areas include depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, adjustment, behavioral issues, and relationships.
